Our School provides English classes for fluent English speaking children between the ages of 3 to 11 being brought up in a bilingual environment. Many of the children have one or two English-speaking parents and English is spoken at home. Others have returned from abroad where their schooling was in English and wish to maintain their fluency.
The classes are held in the premises of St. Mark’s church in Versailles, which is conveniently located for Versailles and the surrounding areas. Nursery children take time off their French school two afternoons a week and the primary children attend on Wednesdays.
The classes are small and children develop their speaking, reading and writing abilities in English. The teachers are all native English speakers. They are qualified with professional experience and are highly dedicated to creating a fun, friendly, but also hardworking environment at Our School. The standard is high and all children must have good spoken English. The work in primary classes is more formal with emphasis on grammar, spelling and comprehension, preparing for international classes at secondary school.
Many of the children take the entrance exam for the international schools at the end of CM2 for entry at secondary school level. Our school is a non-profit Association, established in 2003, run by volunteers.
